Sheet vinyl was waterproof long before the industry had a marketing word for it, and the current product looks nothing like the pattern in your grandmother's kitchen. It comes off a roll in one wide piece, so a small room often has no seam at all. We put it in laundries, hall baths, mudrooms, and utility rooms in houses from the city out through O'Fallon, and it is still the fastest room-sized floor we install.

It is also the least expensive way to make a room genuinely water-safe. When a washer hose lets go on a second floor, a seamless sheet buys you time before the ceiling below finds out about it. If you want plank or tile looks instead, we carry both, but for a small wet room the economics of sheet goods are hard to argue with.

We keep residential rolls at the Maryland Heights showroom in wood, stone, and plain patterns, and we order commercial grades with slip resistance and heat-welded seams for clinics, daycares, and shop floors. For a typical house, a mid-grade residential sheet is the right buy. It holds up for years, and it does not cost much to swap out when you finally remodel the room around it.

Step up to a commercial grade anywhere the floor gets wet-mopped daily or has to meet a slip standard, since a residential sheet will wear thin in that kind of service. And if you decide partway through that you want boards rather than a roll, luxury vinyl plank sits on the next rack over.
