One company from the measure to the last transition
Veteran Flooring has been installing floors around Greater St. Louis since 2015, and the arrangement is simple. You talk to us, and our own crew does the work. There is no shuffle between a hardwood guy, a tile guy, a carpet guy and a handyman for the thresholds. Erik measures and prices the job, the same crew carries the material in and sets the last strip of trim, and one phone number covers the whole thing from the first walk-through to the final sweep.
St. Louis houses make that worth something. A turn-of-the-century two-flat in the city has a wood subfloor over a basement and red oak hiding under old carpet. A 2004 build out in St. Charles County is slab-on-grade and needs a moisture reading before anything gets glued down. We are in both kinds of house most weeks, and the plan changes to match what is actually under your floor. Our St. Louis flooring page covers the rest of the metro we serve.

What we put down
Every job starts with an in-home measure and a written price. We bring samples out from the Maryland Heights showroom so you are choosing color in your own light instead of under store fluorescents, and the number on that quote is the number you pay at the end. No hourly labor, no add-on halfway through for prep we should have caught the first day. Hallmark Floors, Portercraft and Fusion are on the racks if you would rather come see them in person.
- Hardwood - solid strip and plank, plus engineered hardwood for slabs and basements
- Luxury vinyl plank and sheet vinyl, floating or glued down
- Laminate in residential and commercial wear grades
- Carpet - stretched broadloom, glue-down, and carpet tile for finished basements
- Tile - porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and mosaic accents
- Stairs - treads and risers, runners, laminate and vinyl stair systems

Our quotes are all-in. That means moisture readings on concrete, flattening the subfloor where it needs it, pulling and resetting base or adding shoe molding, hauling the old floor away, and clean transitions into every adjacent room. Heavy demolition and leveling on older homes shows up as its own line so you can see exactly what that part costs instead of finding it buried in a lump sum. We run protection through the house, keep the work zone contained, and vacuum at the end of each day.

If something goes wrong later
Material warranties come from the manufacturer and run anywhere from fifteen years to the life of the floor. Our labor sits on top of that. If a seam we set opens up, or a tile lets go because of prep we did, we come back and fix it. That part is what customers tend to write about in our Google reviews, more than the flooring itself, which probably says something about how often other crews come back. Your floor is our mission, and that does not stop at the final payment.

What flooring installation costs in Greater St. Louis
These are installed prices for the St. Louis market - material, labor, and the old floor removed and hauled off. Where a job lands inside a range comes down to the product you pick and how much prep the subfloor needs.
| Option | Typical price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Carpet with new pad | $2.75 - $7.50 / sq ft | Old carpet, pad and tack strip taken away |
| Laminate | $4 - $8 / sq ft | Click-lock over a flat, dry subfloor |
| Luxury vinyl plank | $5 - $10 / sq ft | Floating or glued, the usual basement answer |
| Hardwood, engineered or solid | $8 - $16 / sq ft | Engineered starts lower than solid oak |
| Tile | $8 - $18 / sq ft | Layout, pattern and prep drive the range |
A free in-home measure turns any of these ranges into one written number for your actual rooms.
Flooring Installation - frequently asked questions
A single room of carpet, vinyl plank or laminate is usually a one-day job. A whole floor of prefinished hardwood runs two to four days. Tile takes three to five, plus a day for grout to cure before anyone walks on it. Sand-and-finish work adds drying time between coats. You get the day-by-day plan before we start, not after.
We move ordinary furniture as part of the job - beds, couches, tables, dressers once the drawers are empty. We ask you to carry electronics, glassware and anything with sentimental value, because those are the things nobody wants to explain a scratch on. Book a free in-home estimate and we will walk the rooms and tell you exactly what to clear out.
Yes, we install customer-supplied material. The trade-off is that our warranty then covers labor only, and if the order shows up short or damaged the schedule waits on your reorder. When we supply the floor, one company stands behind both the product and the work, and the ordering and the shortage headaches are ours to solve.
That describes most of our jobs. Hardwood through the living areas, tile in the bathrooms, carpet on the stairs, waterproof plank in a basement that has taken water before. The real work is in the transitions and the height differences between materials, and we plan those at the measure so no doorway ends up with a lip you catch a toe on.

One honest number Erik measures the rooms and checks the subfloor before he quotes, so the written price covers the whole project. It does not grow halfway through the install.
